Back to His Lordship by Jen Geigle Johnson

I have always dreamed of going back in time to the Regency period.   Evaline Johansen, our heroine, in Back To His Lordship by Jen Geigle Johnson has that incredible opportunity.  The story is so fun to read, and speaks to the heart of every Regency book lover! It was wonderful to be able to see through the eyes of someone from my time a ride in a carriage, the workings of a Regency ball, and to better understand the rules that govern Regency society.    I enjoyed Back to His Lordship from cover to cover.

The magic in Back to His Lordship takes place through Twickenham Manor. This book is part of a bigger series relating to time travel. I highly recommend Back to His Lordship. Your time will not be wasted.

I was given this book by the publisher and not required to write a positive review.

About the Author

jen johnson headshot
An award winning author, including the GOLD in Foreword INDIES Book of the Year Awards, Jen Geigle Johnson discovered her passion for England while kayaking on the Thames near London as a young teenager. She once greeted an ancient turtle under the water by grabbing her fin. She knows all about the sound a water-ski makes on glassy water and how to fall down steep moguls with grace. During a study break date in college, she sat on top of a jeep's roll bars up in the mountains and fell in love. Now, she loves to share bits of history that might otherwise be forgotten. Whether in Regency England, the French Revolution, or Colonial America, her romance novels are much like life is supposed to be: full of adventure.

Misleading Miss Verity by Carolyn MIller

Max Pixels

WOW!  That was my thought as I finished Carolyn Miller’s Misleading Miss Verity the third in the Daughters of Aynsley,  Regency Brides series. The cover for Misleading Miss Verity is beautifully made with exquisite colors.  There is an amazing castle of Scotland which stayed in my head as I read the story. I found myself carrying the book around with me and just placing it next to me so I could see and enjoy the gorgeous cover.

Misleading Miss Verity is wonderful and I feel like it is one of Ms. Miller’s best novels to date.  The dialogue is delightful, the setting is stunning, and the story is rich in Christian faith. It is engaging and the hero, Anthony Jardine is one who will stay with me for a long time.  The heroine, Verity Hatherleigh is a joy to watch transform into a woman of God.

I highly recommend Misleading Miss Verity it is a delightful book and an engaging read. You will not be disappointed to read it this holiday season.
I received a copy of the book from the publisher and was not required to write a review.

A Pursuit of Hope By Kristi Hunter

This is the beginning of A Pursuit of Home by Kristi Hunter the third book in the Haven Manor series.  Our heroine, Jess Beauchene, has appeared in the last two novels and has always been a favorite character of mine. Her past has been a mystery and we really do not know her backstory until now.  Our hero, Derek Thornbury, is an expert in artifacts and history. The two have never really hit it off, but now Jess needs Derek and his talents to solve a family mystery.

Their story is filled with adventure, intrigue, disguises, love, and the humor Kristi Hunter is known for.  I was drawn into this amazing book after the first two sentences and reminded of how much I love Ms. Hunter’s gifted storytelling, the depth of her writing, and her insightful spiritual themes. I was so glad for the opportunity to read A Pursuit of Home and truly sad when it ended. It is a wonderful story, and I highly recommend A Pursuit of Home. It will be the highlight of your year.

I was given a copy by the publisher, but not required to write a positive review.
