Christmas with the Cowboy by Tina Radcliffe

Christmas with the Cowboy by Tina Radcliffe is a great way to start the Christmas season!  I was so excited to come back to Big Heart Ranch in Oklahoma for a visit.  I am a huge fan of the ranch and the characters there.   I love Tina Radcliffe’s characters.  They seem like the kind of people I would want to have lunch with.    In Christmas with the Cowboy we learn more about Emma who works at the ranch and Zach who is a six-foot five former Navy Seal.   Emma had been married to Zach’s brother, but is now a widow.  Zach has always been fond of Emma since they were kids.  They have wonderful chemistry and I was cheering for Zach and Emma to get together.   I loved their banter and Emma’s twin girls added so much.

This story has wonderful adventures, great cowboys, and the down-home feeling of Oklahoma.  (I was born in Oklahoma so I know this.)   I highly recommend you read Christmas with the Cowboy.  Prepare yourself to get into the Christmas spirit and make some new friends.

A Rumored Fortune by Joanna Davidson Politano

A Rumored Fortune by Joanna Davidson Politano is a book you want to read and savor.  The book is filled with romance, intrigue, mystery, treasure hunting, and words of wisdom.  It is so well written.   I love the author’s descriptions of people, places and her wonderful use of language.  The book follows our heroine Tressa Harlowe and our heroine Donegan Vance as they both change and grow towards the Lord and fall in love.

The book is set at Trevelyn castle.  The estate has a vineyard that is being cultivated by our hero.  There are many wonderful quotes about raising grapes from the notebook of a viticulturist at the beginning of each chapter.  For me the quotes were thought provoking and added greatly to the novel.  Ms. Politano weaves in the theme of vineyards throughout the story.  My favorite quote from Tressa “I can only take so much pruning, “she whispered.  “Why is God doing this to me?  He’s. . . He’s pruning the very life out of me.”

A Rumored Fortune is the second book Joanna Davidson Poloitano has written. I consider her an author to watch, and one of my favorites.  I highly encourage you to read this fabulous book.

Caught By Surprise by Jen Turano

Caught by Surprise by Jen Turano is an Apart From the Crowd series book number three. You can read it as a stand alone, but this is such a delightful series I think you will want to also read the first two.  This story is filled with thoughtful reflections on God, adventure, romance, humor, mystery, and is just plain fun to read. The cover is beautiful and it helped me to begin to immerse myself into the time period. I loves the handsome and rather planned hero, Gilbert, and the lovely creative heroine, Temperance. You will have to read the story to find out why Temperance is really quite an ironic name for for our heroine.

I loved watching the characters change and draw closer to God. The story is filled with some twists and turns and has a very satisfying ending. Ms. Turano's books  are so enjoyable to read while drawing you closer to God.  I really did not want the story to end, and I think it is one of her best books so far. I highly recommend Caught by Surprise by Jen Turano.

Miss Serena's Secret by Carolyn Miller

Miss Serena’s Secret by Carolyn Miller is an amazing Regency read. The story follows Miss Serena Winthrop and Henry, Lord Carmichael through indifference, friendship and lastly to love.  Serena is a reserved character who I had to warm up to. But, by the end of the book I wished I could master the cooling looks she is able to give and wanted to meet her for lunch. Lord Carmichael was a delight and reminded me how the Gospel truly changes us, and how extraordinarily exciting that is.

My surprise love in this book was how much I enjoyed learning about the Regency art world.  I was especially fascinated with how women were viewed and treated. It is easy to forgot that things have gotten better for women.   The Summer Exhibition, an art show, mentioned in the book was so well portrayed that I felt myself walking through the exhibit.

Ms. Miller took me back in time to London, the English countryside and stately manners, and I did not want to leave!  This is a pleasurable read and I highly recommend it. I was given this book by the publisher and not required to write a review. Miss Serena's Secret

The Rancher's Surprise Daughter by Jill Lynn

The Rancher’s Surprise Daughter by Jill Lynn Is a fantastic read.  The book follows Luc Wilder and Cate Malory and their sweet daughter Ruby.  Cate arrives at Luc’s guest ranch after not seeing Luc for four years with his three-year-old daughter. He is surprised.  How will this work?   Both of them have become Christians since the last time they saw each other.
Jill’s characters are always interesting and real.  I feel like they are authentic people who struggle with problems but allow the Lord to work in their lives through their hardships.  I enjoyed stepping into Luc and Cate’s story and seeing how they both learned to depend on the Lord in new ways.  Luc is someone who you can not help, but love.  Cate is someone who you would love to have coffee with.

I highly recommend The Rancher’s Surprise Daughter by Jill Lynn.  I was given the book by the publisher and was not required to write a review.

Falling for the Cowgirl By Tina Radcliff

Falling for the Cowgirl by Tina Radcliffe is a great read! I loved it! It is a sweet story about Amanda

“AJ” McAlester and Travis Maxwell who both work at Big Heart Ranch. They are learning to work

together and both battle past issues. It is a sweet story and I found myself rooting for both characters

to fall in love and work through things. I enjoyed learning about ranching, and raising bison. So many

great quotes in the story like “You’re both riding a stubborn mule in the wrong direction and wondering why you don’t see eye to eye.” Loved that quote. It is a great read! I highly recommend

Falling for the Cowgirl. and think your summer will not be complete without reading it. Trust me.
